A limit order is an instruction to buy or sell a financial instrument at a specific price or better. For a buy limit order, the order will be executed at the limit price or lower, and for a sell limit order, the order will be executed at the limit price or higher. Limit orders provide more control over the execution price compared to market orders, but they do not guarantee that the order will be filled.
To place a limit order, follow these steps:
- Log in on Daba
- Select the stock you want to trade (eg. Sonatel)
- Choose ‘Limit Order’ from the order type options.
- Enter the amount, and quantity of the asset you want to buy or sell.
- Set your desired price at which you want the order to be executed.
- Review the order details to ensure accuracy.
- Submit the order.
Your limit order will remain open until it is executed at your specified price or until you cancel it. Keep in mind that if the market price does not reach your limit price, the order may not be executed.
